‘Wow, you look amazing, gorgeous, sexy, yummy....’
She giggled at him, ‘Thank you baby, you're looking very sexy too but that suit will look even sexier tonight.’
‘Why?’ He looks confused.
‘Because it’s going to be on the bedroom floor,’ she smirked and he growled slightly at her.
He grabbed her hand and dragged her out of the house playfully and she laughed, ‘Come on let’s go make you Mrs Alexia Taylor,’ he said with a big grin and helped her in the car.
James and Alexia had opted on a simple theme and had the wedding at the James’ fight club and the reception at Alexia’s’ new dance studio that James had bought for her as the re-build of her old studio was going to take too long and she had a lot of things coming up with the company. The Fight Club had been decorated simply but mostly in and around the ring as that is where the wedding party were going to be and the guests were seated around the ring. They took their places in the centre of the ring and started proceedings. There wasn’t a dry eye in the club as James and Alexia exchanged vows:
I, James Matthew Taylor, take you Alexia Amelia Clay, to be my wedded wife. To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness or in health, to love and to cherish 'till death do us part. And hereto I pledge you my faithfulness.
I, Alexia Amelia Clay, take you James Matthew Taylor, to be my wedded husband. To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness or in health, to love and to cherish 'till death do us part. And hereto I pledge you my faithfulness.
They exchanged rings and the registrar pronounced them husband and wife and told the groom he may kiss his bride. Everyone clapped and whooped as he kissed her long and deep. Matt tapped them on the shoulders and said, ‘Ok people we have a room full of guests and a reception to get to.’ Everyone laughed and Alexia and James finally pulled away from each other and smiled. The wedding reception not surprisingly had a Cage fighting and dancing theme. The top table was set up in a ring in the middle of the room and the guest’s table and chairs were around the ring. All the tables were decorated in the theme by having dancing score cards with James and Alexia’s name and wedding date on them as placemats and smaller version of them for the drinks mat’s. Placed on those were the wedding favour boxes which were made up to be a fighting ring for the men and dancing shoes for the women. The chairs had been covered very cleverly in either a pair fighting shorts or a leotard and skirt. Tracy had a custom made bride and groom to go on top of the cake. The bride and groom in a ring but the groom laid on the floor and the bride standing over him with one foot on his chest and her arms raised with big grin on her face as she had won the fight, Sarah told them is represents Alexia winning James. As James and Alexia entered the reception for the first time as Mr and Mrs Taylor, James’ entrance music from his fights played out and everyone cheered and laughed. They took their sit seats a few moments later and they all enjoyed a three course meal of Prawn Cocktail for the starter, Roast Beef for the main and Apple Crumble with custard or ice-cream for pudding. The part James had been dreading was upon them; Sam and Matt’s speech. He had given instructions not to embarrass him but he knew it would be good and as his best men it was customary.
M; ‘Ladies and gentlemen, if there's anybody here this afternoon who's feeling nervous, apprehensive and queasy at the thought of what lies ahead…… it's probably because you have just married James Taylor.’
S; ‘To those of you who don’t know us, which is very unlikely. We are Sam and Matt and we would like to thank James for finally confirming that we are actually the BEST men…but only because he scares everyone else!’
M; ‘We have been looking forward to this moment for a long time. It will be the first time we’ve been able to speak for five minutes in James’ presence without being interrupted!’
S; ‘Now it’s not that we are saying that James is loud but he does seem to break a fundamental law of physics that light travels faster than sound…. because with James, you very definitely hear him before you see him.’
M; ‘It’s great to see that everyone is enjoying the wedding today, but I have to say that being best men you get to see behind the scenes – and let us tell you it isn’t pretty. Tears, hissy fits, chucking lipstick and mascara all over the place… Alexia, we don’t know how you put up with it. You need an award for being with James.’
S; ‘Quite clearly, no expense has been spared in creating this wonderful occasion for us all to enjoy. And by the way, please don't worry if you have heard any unusual noises during the speeches….. It’s only James’ wallet groaning in agony.’
M; ‘Looking around this packed room, it's surprising just how far some people are prepared to travel for a free lunch. It's a good job James didn’t choose the menu, otherwise you would have been very disappointed to have come all this way for cheese sandwiches only to be washed down with a supermarket’s own brand lager.’
S; ‘Now we are supposed to use this opportunity to recall embarrassing moments to ridicule James. But we’ve been put under strict instructions not to mention the time when James was locking up the club one night not long after he got it and we had hidden in the bushes behind it. As James started walking towards his car we jumped out on him and made him scream like a girl and run to hide behind the bins. Or the time he was trying to make us cocktails after closing one evening, he put what spirits he needed in the mixer and started shaking it thinking he was Tom Cruise only he had forgotten to put the lid on and ended up wearing it. Or for the final one, the time we were out shopping with James, whilst in a shop we were winding him up as he was paying for his things, so when he had finished he started to run after us but dropped something, so he stopped to pick it up, of course we ran out and he didn’t see the door close so as he stood up and looked to see where we were, we started pulling face faces at him and laughing making him cross so he started running after us again and ran straight into the door with full force and knocked himself out. To this day he still tells his parents he got into a fight.’
M; ‘Of course James, we won’t say a thing. Our lips are sealed. The theme of our speech is this: why marry James Taylor? Well we thought long and hard about this and the answer is you’ll have to ask Alexia because fuck if we know! Well actually we have been doing a lot of investigating into this and we think we've found a few answers. One reason to marry James is that he’s exceptionally thoughtful – he’s always thinking about friends and family. In fact, he starts thinking from the moment he gets up…… and doesn't stop until he opens his mouth!’
S; ‘Another reason to marry James is because at school, his sporting progress was legendary. In fact, when he graduated he was recognised as having made a major contribution to the schools football first team..… by sticking to cage fighting.’
M; ‘He’s academically bright. We were talking to him one lunchtime at college when suddenly he looked at us with a joyful expression on his face. ‘I’m done here,’ he told us, confidently, ‘they can’t teach me any more.’ Now, initially, we put that down to his inflated ego. But, curiously enough, the head of the University at the time was having lunch behind us so we turned and asked him about James and we were shocked that his words were exactly the same, but his face had a whole different expression….. ‘We simply couldn’t teach him any more’. He told us.
S; ‘Another reason to marry James is that he’s very caring – especially about his appearance. It's easy to see from today that James is impeccably dressed, has always been an image-conscious sort of guy. You know, he once admitted to us that his favourite forms of entertainment were TV, Fighting and mirrors …. In reverse order.’
M; ‘He is most known however for his care of money. As he has often told us: ‘The safest way to double your money is to fold it over once and put it back in your pocket.’
S; ‘But marriage changes a man and his approach to spending is shifting. Just yesterday, while mull
ing over a purchase, he blurted out, ‘Well, if you’ve got it why not spend it! I’m not extravagant enough! It’s a lot of money, but hey, you only live once! I’m going to buy this right now! I don’t care how much it costs!’
We were really impressed by this. And dramatically James threw the packet of Jaffa cakes in the shopping trolley and marched off.’
M; ‘Now we’re not saying James is a skin flint but it’s a well known fact that when he suggested getting married at Alton Towers it was because he thought he could just pay for him, Alexia and the kids, then make everyone else pay for themselves.’
S; ‘Now we can only assume that the reason for Alexia choosing James was that opposites attract. What we mean is, one of our fondest memories is walking into James’ parent’s garden….whilst they were away we might had… for a party to see James in the kitchen wearing a floral apron making cocktails and Alexia in the garden chopping firewood with an Axe. They certainly are opposites. If the theme of our speech had been: why marry Alexia? It would have been straight forward. She is beautiful, intelligent and funny. She’s got the patience of a saint and is the only person who can knock James out. James, we can say with our hands on our hearts that you’re one of the luckiest men alive and we are so pleased that you have got the love of your life back. And she writes a cracking best men speech as well.’
M; ‘Joking aside, it’s a wonderful honour being your best men today, James you are a very special person to us. You are a true friend who never ceases to amaze us with his kindness. You have listened to us through many a crisis. You give without any thought of reward. You are a super guy and a role model of a friend. And yes, we all have had our differences… but nothing that three lawyers and a judge couldn’t sort out. We’d now like to wish the happy couple well and toast their future happiness. Ladies and gentlemen, to the bride and groom.’
Everyone stood up, clapping and cheering for the guys as James walked over to them and shook their hands, clearly moved and gave them a hug.
In the evening Tracy, Sarah and the dance crew surprised the guests with a performance of their own, singing and dancing to:
Little Mix - Wings,
Will.I.Am and The Script - Hall of Fame
Rhianna - Diamonds.
Alexia had said she wanted to sing a few songs so went to her changing room to change into her outfit. Sarah and Tracy helped her get ready then went on to help her get sorted on stage.
James’ eyes were completely fixed on his wife whilst she was on stage, he loved watching her perform. She sang her own version of: Go your own way, I won’t give up, To love you more. Then she went on to sing Bellefire’s, Say something anyway, All I want is you,You were meant for me, Finishing with a powerful version of Heart’s Alone.
When she had finished, she went back to her changing room. She had just taken her stage top off and was about to take her trousers off when the changing room door swung open. She jumped and looked up but when she noticed it was James, she continued to seductively get undressed and stood with nothing on but a white thong. No words were needed as he locked the door, walked over to her and started kissing her hard and deep, he picked her up and carried her over to the sofa, laying her down and climbed on top of her. They had been making little comments and touching each other discreetly all day and now they couldn’t take it anymore, he ripped her knickers off by tearing the seams at the side of them and undid his trousers pushing them down just enough for what he needed and slammed into her, they looked at each other and smiled and as they got their rhythm, for the next hour it was nothing but the sound of passionate pleas and cries. When they got back to the party, everyone was having such a good time and enjoying the expensive champagne that they hadn’t even noticed they had gone.....or so they thought. They looked over to Tracy and Sarah who had a big grin on their faces and Matt and Sam who were sat smiling with a drink for them each in their hands.
‘Well, you're truly married now then.’ Tracy said as Sam handed Alexia her drink and winked at them.
‘Congratulations mate on finally marrying the love of your life and banging her like a goodun in the changing room, classy.’ Matt said as he handed James his drink. They all burst out laughing and went and joined everyone else on the dance floor.
‘HA! Your only jealous but don’t worry you and Sam can bang Tracy and Sarah in the changing rooms when you get married,’ James joked.
The four of them looked at James and Alexia, to each other and back again. ‘Oh stop it you four, we all damn well know you’ll end up back together.’ Alexia said with a smile.
Epilogue
‘Push baby push!’ James said. Alexia looked up at him, ‘What the fuck do you think I’m doing?’ She said taking deep breaths before the next contraction. ‘OH MY GOD!!! Why the hell I am doing this again?!’ she shouted.
‘Well done Alexia, one more and baby number one will be here,’ the midwife said. Alexia gave it all she had, gave one last push and suddenly she heard the most beautiful sound......A crying baby. She took a deep breath and watched the midwife place the baby on her tummy. ‘Congratulations it’s a boy!’ the midwife said. James and Alexia started crying and James gave her a kiss.
‘Thank you baby, another son, he’s so beautiful,’ James cried.
‘Ok Alexia we will just take him over there to clean up whilst we get you ready for baby number two.’ The midwife said.
‘Ok,’ Alexia replied.
James knew he had to stay at Alexia’s side but he wanted to split himself in half so he could keep an eye on the midwife with his son. He kept looking over at them until Alexia said, ‘Oh god, here we go again.’ Ten minutes later the midwife put baby number two on Alexia’s tummy, ‘It’s a girl! Congratulations.’
‘Holy shit we have two set of twins both one boy and one girl,’ James cried and looked at his daughter in his wife’s arms, ‘Thank you so much baby, for our four adorable children.’ For the next hour James and Alexia spent time with their new babies before phoning and telling everyone as they knew that it was only going to take fifteen minutes for everyone to get there.
‘Baby, we’d better phone home and tell everyone the babies are here.’ Alexia said.
‘Umm,’ James replied as he pulled his phone out. ‘I had better put it on speaker, god forbid you miss out on their reactions,’ he said with a smirk and Alexia playfully smacked him.
Sarah, Sam, Tracy, Matt, Ben, Amber, Tony and James’ parents were all in the front room when the phone rang. Tracy and Sarah jumped up to see who it was. ‘IT’S JAMES.’ They both shouted and put it on speaker. ‘HELLOOOOOOOOO.’ Everyone shouted excitedly.
‘Hello everyone,’ James said and looked at Alexia and signed for her to keep quite.
‘Has she had them?’ Sarah asked.
‘No not yet, Doctor said if she doesn’t have them in the next few hours she has to go for a C-section,’ he said with a straight face and Alexia tried not to laugh.
‘Oh bugger, we got all excited,’ Tracy said ‘Are you being serious?’
‘No, she had them an hour ago!’
‘WHAT!’ They all said.
James laughed, ‘Yeah, we have just got sorted. We have another boy and girl!’
James and Alexia listened to them all respond at the same time with a mixture of ‘Congratulations, Hooray, Yeah, about time.’
‘Names?’
‘Jacob and Harriet.’ Alexia announced.
‘We are on our way.’ James’ mum shouted and the phone went dead.
James and Alexia looked at each other, ‘Peace is about to be shattered babe,’ James said.
‘Yep,’ Alexia agreed.
James lent down and kissed her, ‘I love you.’ He said looking into her eyes.
‘I love you too.’ She smiled at him.
